The main purposes of research is to inform action, gather evidence for theories, and contribute to developing knowledge in a field of study.

If we hope to see the impact of open education, it is essential for effective research to continue in OER.

I learned more about OER research and whether to tell or not OER is making a difference. Without research there won't be any data to tell how OER is being implemented.
According to David Wiley (2020). There are three keys to having a holistic framework for evaluating the impact of education innovations.
Student Success: "Success" means completing a course with a final grade that allows the course to count toward graduation.
Scale: means "the proportion of students being reached"
Savings: means "the amount of money spent on course materials by the average student using OER compared to the amount of money spent on course materials by the average control student."
